8 Crochet Project Ideas for Bango’s Blend Yarn
We know sometimes decision paralysis can set in when you’re staring at your fun new yarn haul, so here are some of our favourite project ideas using Bango's Blend!
Bango’s Blend is a sturdy but soft yarn that is so lovely to work with. Honestly, when we started using it we thought we were the fastest crocheters in Australia, it just glides on your hook! 😻
Our Bango's Blend Makes
Runaway Bag in Bango's Blend (Sunshine & Desert)
Runaway Bag: We've been using this pattern by @off.topic.designs to make the cutest market bags. They’re quick to whip up and look great in both the solid colours and variegated colours. After we posted our bag on our Instagram stories, we had some customers make their own and love them as well!
It's a free pattern, so you can grab it on Phoebe’s Ko-Fi page and start crocheting right away!
Book Sleeve in Bango's Blend (Sunrise)
Kindle/Book Sleeve: As absolute bookworms, we couldn't resist making a cosy sleeve to help keep our books and eReaders safe. It's a quick and easy project that adds a touch of handmade charm to your reading time.
You can find the free pattern on our website. This also works really well with our Kestrel’s Kaleidoscope yarn.
Dandelion Headscarf in Bango's Blend (Rainbow)
Dandelion Headscarf: There are SO MANY cute bandana and headscarf patterns popping up, but one of the first things we made with Bango’s Blend was this OG simple pattern by @mrsmoonheaven. It’s a free tutorial over on YouTube and works up pretty quickly - another one that’s perfect for both the solid Bango’s Blend colours or the self-striping balls! It also has a paid written pattern if you'd like to support Jaida with a purchase.

Valla Vest in Bango's Blend (Morning Fog)
Valla Vest: We took a few balls of Bango’s Blend in Morning Fog on our recent international holiday, and the Valla Vest by @edsfart was the perfect travel project. We’d recommend doing your measurements and a gauge swatch before you head off on your trip, and from there the pattern repeats are so fun and easy to do on-the-go!
The Valla Vest is a paid pattern which you can find on Eden’s Ko-Fi page.

Bucket Hat in Bango's Blend (Cloud & Rain)
Bucket Hat: Of course it wouldn’t be a Bango’s Blend project list without recommending our Founder's very own Bucket Hat pattern, which you can grab on Mel's website! It’s a simple and fun project that you could easily whip up in a day, perfect for last minute gifting this spring or summer time 👒
What Our Crochet Friends Are Making
There’s nothing we love more than seeing what you’re making with our yarns, and there have been some awesome projects using Bango's Blend popping up on our feed and in our DMs. We're all about sharing the love on our customers' makes so you can get inspired by each other’s brilliance! 💞
You'll find some pattern inspiration below using a range of yarns, but all of them have been tried & tested by our customers in Bango's Blend as well 👏

Olivia Shrug: This free pattern by @sunflowerandcrochet is perfect for layering. It's so comfy and stylish, and the drape of Bango's Blend makes it the perfect yarn choice!

THAT Swiftie Dress: If you're a Swiftie (let’s be honest, who isn’t?), you'll love this dress inspired by Taylor's iconic style. There are some great free tutorials on Instagram by @sew.hooked.crochet and our friend over at @sleepinglunadesigns has been making a couple of these dresses in Bango’s Blend for family members - too cute!

The Willow Top: We’re huge fans of @PassioKnitKelsie in this business, so we couldn’t not include one of her amazing patterns, too! We’ve heard this Willow Top works up great using this yarn, we’d love to see a photo if you give it a go, too! There’s a free YouTube tutorial where Kelsie shows you how to make the medium size of the top. You can also support Kelsie by purchasing the full written pattern.
Get crafty!
